POETRY FELLOWSHIP

With support from a local family foundation, Chatter is pleased to announce our second poetry fellowship.

Since our inception as the Church of Beethoven, poetry and spoken word has been an integral part of our community.

This is a career development fellowship primarily for poets who identify as African, Latinx, Arab, Asian or Native American. Different perspectives, cultural histories, life experiences and personal stories enrich our series and the art of poetry. We are committed to supporting creators who reflect the diversity of our community.

Preference will be given to poets living in or with ties to the American Southwest.

Up to four poets will each be awarded a $1,000 fellowship.

We will ask that fellows do a minimum of 2 readings, with the possibility of more.  These readings will be scheduled at a mutually agreeable time.

During the course of the fellowship (one year) we ask that poets simply continue writing in their own direction and interest.

At the conclusion of the fellowship, we will publish a short-run, high-quality anthology/chapbook of works by our fellows.
